I toy with art

Marcos Minuchin is an award winning artist born in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is known for his work with action figures and dolls. His technical abilities and technique makes the viewer get lost in a world were perspective and perceptions are blurred into a confused reality. Marcos' pieces, are a combination of childhood memories, humor and honesty that hit home.

He moved to the United States in the 90's after completing his studying in the creative Arts of Advertising. For more than 10 years he worked in the advertising industry as a copywriter first and later as a Creative Director. In 2010, in a radical move, he decided to retire and pursue his dream of becoming a full-time artist.

MINUCHIN's PHOTOGRAPHY DEPICTS COMMONPLACE OBJECTS LIKE TOYS IN A PLAYFUL, YET SMART & PROVOCATIVE YET ELEGANT, LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE.

Marcos' work is held in commercial and private collections in Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, England, Sweden and throughout the Unites States of America. He currently lives in New York but spends most of his time on the road, excitedly creating fascinating new images or showing his current body of work, overall keeping up a very busy schedule.

Far from today’s world of digital cameras, Computer generated images or the hyper-editing techniques that is common place among other photographers’ work, Marcos creates the entire scene right in front of the lens.

My work shows my fascination with toys & reveals how honest storytellers these toys are. Combining Childhood memories, humor & a lot of heart makes my work hit home.

I enjoy seeing people react to my artwork but it's immensely rewarding seeing their reaction once they discover that there's something else behind the humor. I like to give them more that they can see & always leave them waiting to find more.

I create unique scenes - either by building miniature sets in my studio or traveling to that place that will help me tell the story.

Embracing storytelling, Because every image has a story to tell.
