I wanted to create a multi-layered project to explore the relationship between toys and childhood sensibilities. And I ended discovering that toys can say so much about us, that sometimes scares me.
MARCOS MINUCHIN (Argentina) is a self-taught photographer/ artist, that one day decided to put behind his 10+ years as a creative in the creative world to create The Secret Life of Toys, a humoristic-lighthearted project that uses toys to focus on simple "everyday themes" that, in some cases, morphs into multi-layer scenes worthy of Freud.
His photography and our intense emotional bond with toys, is what makes his work extend beyond its own dimensional limits and demonstrates through the universality of the objects and topics how different and/or similar we all are. Marcos' work has been published in many national and international publications and his work is constantly reviewed in blogs in many languages. He currently lives and works in New York.
In his work, toys are used in an atmosphere of middle-class mentality in which mirroring life is part of the game.
